BIOGRAPHY:

Legendary country music composer, producer and recording artist Ray Griff is the most recorded and awarded artist/songwriter in Canadian music history having written more than 2000 songs, 760 of which have been recorded by such renowned artists as: Jim Reeves, Johnny Horton, George Hamilton IV, George Jones, Jerry Lee Lewis, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Ray Price, Charlie Pride, Hank Snow, and Conway Twitty amongst others.

As a recording artist himself, Griff has released more than 25 albums and has charted 24 singles on the Billboard Country Hits Charts including: ‘The Morning After Baby Let Me Down’, ‘Darlin’’, ‘You Ring My Bell’, and ‘If I Let Her Come In’. His albums have been released stateside on the ABC-Dot, Capitol and RCA labels, with Canadian releases on RCA, Boot, Bookshop and his own Focus Records label.  Griff has toured extensively with major artists throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Griff’s songs, ‘Canadian Pacific’, ‘Canada’ and ‘Maple Leaf’ have all become Canadian staples garnering continued airplay on Canadian radio.

Ray Griff has hosted his own television network shows, “Goodtime Country” and “Up-town Country”, was the host of “Raymond’s Place” a classic country radio show and has also guested on many country TV shows aired in the USA and Canada.

Ray Griff received SOCAN’S ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ in 2008, has received 7 BMI citations for songwriting and publishing, 47 ASCAP Achievement Awards for artistry and producing, 40 ASCAP Achievement Awards for songwriter and publisher and appears on the Walkway of Stars in Music City amongst other accolades.

Ray Griff passed away on March 9, 2016 at the age of 75.
