CCMA Announces New Artist Showcase Performers For 2012 PotashCorp Country Music Week in Saskatoon

July 3, 2012 (Toronto, ON)- The Canadian Country Music Association® is proud to announce an outstanding group ofperformers who will take to the 2012 PotashCorp Country Music Week stage on Thursday, September 6as part of the CCMA New Artist Showcase. Recognizing the talent of solos, duos and groups,the 2012 CCMA New Artist Showcase will include performances from the best of Canada's emerging country artists including The Abrams Brothers, TheCommand Sisters, Kylee Epp, Genevieve Fisher, Madison Violet, Declan McGarry, The Orchard and Tebey.

"The Canadian Country Music Association is thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase these new artists to country music fans across Canada," said Don Green, Executive Director, CCMA. "Although this has traditionally been considered an industry event, this year the CCMA is encouraging the public to take in this incredible opportunity to meet the future stars of Canadian country music."

Artists taking part in the 2012 CCMA New Artist Showcase were chosen based on a submission process and juried national by music industry professionals in a three-phase process. Throughout the evening's show, jurors will adjudicate performances and award the winner with the CCMA New Artist Showcase Award. The recipient of this award will be recognized at the 2012 CCMA Gala Awards Presentation and will receive a special package from DMDS, RDR Music and Lauren Tutty Promotions. Additionally, the 2012 CCMA New Artist Showcase will feature a special performance from the 2011 New Artist Showcase Award winner, Jess Moskaluke.

Tickets for the 2012 CCMA New Artist Showcase are available now online at www.tcutickets.ca for $20 including taxes and fees. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

The Abrams Brothers
The Abrams Brothers have been blowing away audiences with their virtuoso playing and effortless harmonies drawn on four generations of bluegrass and folk music. The Command Sisters
Singer/songwriter's and multi-instrumentalists, Charlotte and Sarah, sisters from Spruce Grove Alberta, have captivated audiences with exciting performances at well-known festivals and venues. With a bright future ahead of them, Charlotte and Sarah have already enjoyed quite a ride as they have performed alongside country superstars George Canyon, Johnny Reid, and Emerson Drive, and just recently launched their self-titled debut album The Command Sisters.

Kylee Epp

Known as the 'little singer girl' from Qualicum Beach, B.C., this young star got her first gig singing at dinner parties and belting it out at school assemblies, local hockey games and baseball tournaments. Today Kylee Epp is known for a sound of her own as she blends her hippie roots with sassy bubblegum pop and tops it off with a dash of cowboy.

Genevieve Fisher
With strong roots in the Aboriginal and Italian community, this young star always had a place for country music in her heart. Performing in singing competitions since the age of two, Fisher is also an accomplished piano and violin player. She has performed at multiple festivals in her local community of London, Ontario and has opened for country artists Crystal Shawanda, Dean Brody, Hunter Hayes, and David Nail.

Madison Violet
Comprised of BrenleyMacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac, Madison Violet are a JUNO-nominated roots duo who released their latest studio album The Good in Goodbye earlier this year.  They were the 2011 Winners of the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals: Galaxie Rising Star Award and the 2009 Maxell Song of the Year Winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Declan McGarry
Singer/songwriter/businessman this young artist is the reason for his own success. Creating a business plan that would soon become his reality Declan found success in his hometown of Winnipeg and launched his career with the help of Nick Pellegrino. Piecing together his album Declan used all of his musical influences and created his self-titled debut album full of music that he could never be more proud of.

The Orchard
Comprised of Kasha Anne and Mitch Smith this duo has been influenced by the likes of Miranda Lambert, Pearl Jam, Reba, and The Zac Brown Band, which has lead them to create an honest, diverse sound. Having already received accolades and nominations for their talents, Kasha for her voice and melodies, and Mitch for his guitar talents and writing, The Orchard is looking forward to a busy 2012 and the release of their debut album, Southern Ground.

Tebey
Nashville based singer/songwriter, Tebey, has worked within many genres of the music industry but finds his home in country music. Writing hits for Canadian country artists Emerson Drive,Doc Walker, Jason Blaine, Aaron Prichett One More Girl, Canadian pop star Shawn Desman, US rapper Flo-Rida and British pop-stars One Direction, and Pixie Lott, Tebey will finally be stepping out on his own releasing his first studio album in the fall of 2012. His first single from the new album "All About Us" was his first top 40 hit since his teenage release "We Shook Hands Man to Man" a top 5 hit in 2004 in Canada!
