Marg Osburne

  • Background:

    Marg Osburne is most widely known as a member of Don Messer's Islanders, with whom she performed from 1947 until the end of the group in 1969.

    After the demise of the Islanders, Osburne began singing in nightclubs across Canada, enjoying particular success in Western Canada. She also acted as the host in 1977 for CBC TV's 'That Maritime Feeling'. Osburne also scored a few hits off her Marathon released Blues Comin Round in 1974.

    Osburne also enjoyed success as a solo recording artist with albums released on the Arc, Marathon and Paragon labels, and charted 3 top 20 singles during the early 1970's.
